FXM20 CAB Radio is a device that is primarily intended for voice communication between the engine driver of the train and the traffic controller, station dispatcher or other parties in GSM-R(mobile communication in railway systems) networks, GSM-P (Public mobile operator) and in RRS (Railway Radio Systems).

Description FXM20 - CAB Radio
When operating in the RRS mode, the equipment can work together with the VS47 vehicle unit or with FAM10 manufactured by our company. When working with VS47 it replaces the original V047 control box.
In addition to voice communication, FXM20 equipment enables, in GSM-P networks, transmission of data via GPRS data transfers, between the train and stationary infrastructure (two-way communication). Within the framework of the RRS network, it is possible to implement duplex voice connection, identification transmission, and selective communication with the chosen party and potentially transmission of routine reports. In the event that the train locomotive is equipped with the ETCS (Ansaldo) system, the FCB20 control box takes the train number from this system. The FXM20 can be fitted with a reader for identification of the engine driver in the Mifare/DESFire system. CAB Radio FXM20 is designed as a modular system, whose individual blocks are interconnected via an RS485 serial collector. The FXM20 is equipped with:

The train locomotive is usually fitted with two FCB20 control boxes, depending on the type of vehicle, whereas only one of these is active at any one time. The control box, in the direction of the RRS system, is equipped with an interface that is the equivalent to the existing interface of the VO47 control box, which it can replace.
FXM20 is functionally separated into two independent parts:
FRB20 Radio block
The FRB20 enables voice communication in the GSM-R and GSM-P networks. For data transmission, the FRB20 block can be expanded with a data module that facilitates data exchange between stationary infrastructure and the mobile equipment. GPRS technology is used for communication.
Ovládací panel DMI
Slouží jako uživatelské rozhraní strojvedoucího pro ovládání FXM20. Pro hlasová volání je k DMI připojen mikrotelefon s klíčovacím tlačítkem (PTT) a reproduktor.

FCB20 Control Panel
The FCB20 control panel acts as a user interface for the engine driver for controlling the FXM20. It is fitted with a graphic LCD display, 240 x 128 points with backlighting. The front panel is equipped with a backlit keyboard with adjustable light intensity. For voice calling, a handset with PTT button a speaker is attached to the control box.
